YMCA Group Classes:

YMCA Duncan location: Beginner’s class W/F 9am – 10am, Intermediate class M 9am-10am

YMCA DBMY location: Beginner’s class T/Th, 12:00-1:00pm

Workout Meter: Beginner’s class 2/10, Intermediate class 4/10

These classes are larger and more relaxed in format due to the drop-in nature of classes. Beginner’s classes are taught roughly in modules which correspond to the part 1 breakouts on our YouTube channel. Intermediate classes focus primarily on part 2 of the form with some focus on Pushing Hands. YMCA guests should be able to observe a class by requesting a visitor pass at the front desk, but passes may be limited during peak attendance times.

Tai Chi Ball & Ruler “Core” classes:

  • M/W/F 11:15am – 11:45am and 12:00pm to 12:30pm

These are 30-minute lunchtime classes designed to get you a quick, strong core workout before lunch. These classes are 5-7 minutes of general warmup, 7 minutes of Tai Chi Ruler warmup drills, then 15 minutes of focused Tai Chi Ruler (beginners) or Ball (intermediate/advanced) practice. This workout will improve your Tai Chi practice in general; and add to your balance, posture, and core conditioning for dance/Yoga/Pilates or other martial arts.

Workout Meter: 7/10

  • Drop-in Classes: $7/day. Free with monthly Tai Chi class membership.
