Our inaugural Tai Chi Ball & Ruler seminar will be held on Saturday, August 15th at 2pm at our studio near IAH. The details:
- The seminar will be roughly 2 hours long, broken into 3 pieces with brief breaks. General warmups and Tai Chi Ruler warmups, beginners through intermediate drills, and form diagnostics / Q&A.
- Please do not eat solid food for 2 hours before the seminar. Your legs and abs will get a very strong workout during this class.
- Please bring traditional cotton soled shoes, sneakers which have not been used outdoors, or padded socks for the studio floor.
- Tai Chi Ruler required. 11″ by about 1.5″ is the standard size for one.
- Tai Chi Ball optional but recommended. A 3-4 pound ball is best for beginners to intermediate players, and 6-8 pounds for advanced and diagnostic work. Our school has one of each which will be present for the seminar.
- Please see my supplies page if you need help sourcing either a Tai Chi Ball or Tai Chi Ruler. Please note that most rulers will come from overseas and need lead time, so order ASAP. If you need even more assistance, leave a comment below in the registration form and I will help the best I can.
- UPDATE 7/3 : I have secured 10 Tai Chi Rulers for sale for this event, $20 apiece including tax. Please add a comment during registration or shoot me an email/text if you would like one reserved.
- Our school offers a Tai Chi Ruler as part of our new student package, please inquire if interested. 🙂
Please fill out the following form with your details to reserve a place. The fee for the seminar will be $33 if you register before August 8th, after which at-door registration will be $40. Zelle and cash accepted at the door.
Our space should easily allow for 24, and tightly up to 32 participants for this seminar; and registrations may be paused as we approach those marks. We look forward to seeing you, having you experience our new facility, and having a ball with Tai Chi!
